Ruben Romero earned his Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008 and has taught in Denver Public Schools until joining the Broomfield family in 2015. He has also worked with the Centaurus High School music program since 2007, both teaching and designing shows. He has led their Winter Percussion Ensemble to win a state championship in 2013, as well as 3 consecutive state championships for the Marching Band in 2012, 2013, and 2014. He has had the privilege of working with Arvada High School, Eaglecrest High School, and Englewood High School marching bands. He has also designed marching band shows for Mountain View High School, Texas A&M Kingsville, and University of Northern Colorado.
Ruben Romero was a member of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps for 4 years until 2006, as well as the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble for 6 years until 2007. He has been lucky enough to travel all over the world performing music with various ensembles including Orchestras, Concert Bands, Percussion Ensembles, and Drum Corps. He is excited to share his passion for music and performance with the amazing students here at Broomfield High School.
When he isn't teaching, you can find Mr. Romero snowboarding, bowling, shooting pool, enjoying the newest movie in theaters, or catching a concert at one of Colorado's amazing performance venues.
Brad Neilson has been performing in marching band since his years in High School. He was a member of the Alameda High School marching band, marched one year with Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, and four years with the Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in Anaheim, CA.
He has been a Visual Instructor since 1997 when he worked with both the Arvada West and the Wheatridge High School marching bands, securing a second place medal with the latter. He has also taught with Eaglecrest, Conifer, Air Academy, Broomfield, and Overland. He assisted the last two schools in gaining four 'Most Improved' trophies through the years and last season helped Broomfield win first place at the Friendship Cup during the competitive season.
Brad currently works with Broomfield and Arapahoe marching bands. He has helped Arapahoe to four finalist performances and three top three placements in his four seasons with them. He loves the activity and the kids and looks forward to helping them be the best they can be.
Devin Greenlee is the color guard instructor at BHS and has been teaching high school guards since 2010. He is a former member of the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps, and Opus X, an indoor winter guard ensemble. He has worked with the students at BHS since 2012.
Corey Anderson has been involved with marching bands since 2005. He has marched as a member of the Blue Knights World Percussion Ensemble and as the drum captain of the University of Colorado Drumline. He currently lives in Boulder, CO, and is pursuing a double degree in Psychology and Film Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He loves watching movies, hanging with friends, and playing flam drags.
