Ruben Romero earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008 and taught in Denver Public Schools prior to joining the Broomfield family in 2015.  He worked with the Centaurus High School music program from 2007-2015, both teaching and designing shows.  He led their Winter Percussion Ensemble to win a state championship in 2013, as well as 3 consecutive state championships for the Marching Band in 2012, 2013, and 2014.  He had the privilege of working with Arvada High School, Eaglecrest High School, and Englewood High School marching bands.  He also designed marching band shows for Mountain View High School, Texas A&M Kingsville, and University of Northern Colorado.

Ruben Romero was a member of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps for 4 years and the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble for 6 years.  He has been lucky to travel all over the world performing music with various ensembles including orchestras, concert bands, percussion ensembles, and drum corps.  He is excited to share his passion for music and performance with the amazing students here at Broomfield High School.

When he isn’t teaching, you can find Mr. Romero snowboarding, bowling, shooting pool, enjoying the newest movie in theaters, or catching a concert at one of Colorado’s amazing performance venues.


Corey Anderson, Percussion Instructorcorey2015

Corey Anderson has been involved with marching bands since 2005.  He has marched as a member of the Blue Knights World Percussion Ensemble and as the drum captain of the University of Colorado Drumline.  He currently lives in Boulder, Colorado, and is pursuing a double degree in Psychology and Film Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder.  He loves watching movies, hanging with friends, and playing flam drags.

Corey led BHS Winter Percussion to a State Championship Title in 2014. This marks the first state title for Broomfield Winter Guard and Broomfield as the only Colorado school to have a state title in both Winter Guard and Winter Percussion in 2014.

Danny Sibley – Front Ensemble/Sound Design

Danny Sibley is a Colorado native has been apart of the percussion community since his freshman year of high school in 2006. He was a member of the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble in 2011, 2013, and 2014. During his age out season in 2014, Danny had the privilege of serving as a section leader in the Front Ensemble. He was also a member of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps in 2012 and 2013, winning the award for “Rookie of the Year” in 2012. In 2013, Danny performed as a member of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps Front Ensemble at the DCI Individual & Ensemble competition.

Danny graduated from Mountain Range High School in 2010 and is attending Metropolitan State University of Denver where he is studying for a degree in Mathematics and Elementary Education.  He has been with Broomfield High School since 2012 and is currently the composer/arranger of the winter percussion ensemble. Danny has also been a part of the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble staff since his age out in 2014. Some of his past schools he has taught at were Evergreen High School and Mountain Range High School. Danny has also been a guest instructor for many high schools around the state of Colorado. Danny is an endorser of Vic Firth mallets and sticks, and is a part of the Vic Firth Education Team.

Outside of music, Danny has been involved with children’s after school and summer programs. He also loves to golf, play indoor soccer, and watch football. Danny currently resides in Northglenn, CO.
